Hip hop artist Dirt-E The trapper sat down to answer some Q’s with Music Boombox. Check out the interview below:
MBB: Where is your hometown and what area do you currently represent?
Dirt-E: My hometown is Chicago. I represent all sides cause really we are one city, but I am from the Southeast side of Chicago.
MBB: How would you describe your musical sound?
Dirt-E: Untraceable! You don’t know where I’m going next and you never will. My music is something you have to dive into to understand. I don’t make surfer music though. I call it surfing music because surfers don’t go deep, when you listen to my music you will catch yourself swimming with fishes and flying with birds.
MBB: What is your favorite strain of marijuana to smoke while you are making music?
Dirt-E: I used to smoke I don’t smoke anymore, can’t keep focused off that stuff. But if I had to pick it would be Sour Diesel. Who doesn’t like Sour D though.
MBB: Your style fits well with the singer on the hook, who is it? And do you plan on doing more work together?
Dirt-E: She’s a close friend, she doesn’t want us to put her identity out yet, she’s kinda shy. But absolutely, I have a line up of tracks me and her are working on. We manage ourselves so it’s easy to get work done.
MBB: Explain to the fans more in depth about how you got your name?
Dirt-E: So the name Dirt-E ‘The Trapper’ is a name that I gave myself. I won’t get into ‘The Trapper’ meaning yet, maybe in another interview. But Dirt is something that is raw, it comes from the earth you feel me. And everybody walks on the Dirt, Everybody spits on Dirt, people even lie on the Dirt lol, but you never hear the Dirt complain. The “E” has many meanings, but right now it means the Energy that flows through the Dirt.
