If you are old enough to remember the early 1990s, then you most likely remember the Golden age 0f hip hop and of early gangsta rap. With a lot of new innovations in music, artists such as N.W.A, Snoop Dog, Public Enemy, and Warren G, paved a path into the rap/hip hop we see today.
Now if you have followed me this far, then you maybe asking, “OK, What’s your point?” Well, my point is this song, “Hella Popular”, by Mac Jeff. It sent me right back to the Golden age. Featuring, Husalah, The Jacka, and L-Love, these guys really brought this one home! Husalah starts with the first verse, and dang, he can rap! “Hella Popular” is great at every verse, The Jacka on Hook combined with Mac Jeff and L-Love spitting words, its pure nostalgia.
I highly recommend taking a listen to “Hella Popular”. It was recorded out of the Bay Area in 2014 by Mac Jeff. I promise it will take you back to the good ol’ 90s.
