Upon hearing the name Roxxy Montana, it sounded like one girl so i never expected it to be an awesome singing trio. The Detroit R&B group just tapped Sage the Gemini for their new single “Way Too Good”. The three ladies are best known for their spectacular performances on the X-Factor tv show. Not only are they talented, they are sisters, but wait there’s more….. The trio are all granddaughters of the late great Marvin Gaye, talk about a blood line!
“Way Too Good.“ is an uptempo pop dance track with a nice flow by Sage the Gemini to top it off. The song was written and vocally produced by Fifth Harmony writer Breana Marin. The mixing & mastering was done by T.I. and Kelly Rowland’s producer Marshall Bryant, and the beat was produced by Vocirus.
Before trying out for the big show, they explained their timeline to the judges, each intending to go to college if they didn’t make it in music.
RoXxy Montana auditioned in Long Island, singing the song “One Night Only” from the musical Dreamgirls. Initially, the judges were not impressed by the performance but Simon Cowell singled out Temperence as the group’s best vocalist. The girls then took on another song in acappella and this time it worked in their favor. Kelly Rowland has praised the girls for their amazing harmonies.
In this phase of the competition, RoXxy Montana took on the Michael Jackson classic “Man In The Mirror”, wowing the audience. Praised by the judges for their harmonies, the girls made it to the live shows.
Since their time on the X-factor show, the girls have kept their fans updated on what’s been going on via Twitter. On May 9, 2014, the group announced that they had signed a deal with an independent record label called Swift Endeavor.
“Way to go” is definitely a crossover hit due to the fact that the singers are from Detroit and they have recruited a bay area rapstar to add a final touch. it will be beneficial for both artists to gain each others fans.
