Review for Rane Raps “Sunrise”.
At first listen, “Sunrise” sounds like a summer type anthem , with its cool and upbeat type of vibe. The track features a feel good sample that drives the song. After listening a few more times, you start to notice that the song has a deeper message hidden behind the catchy hook. Rane Raps is explaining that we all need to look at the brighter side of things, and appreciate what we have instead of complaining what we don’t.
RaneRaps’ Diamonds & Perils, was released on October 9th, 2016, and is already garnering attention from several outlets, including Thisis50.com. The album title is inspired by Prince’s Diamonds & Pearls, with the Diamonds representing the music itself and the Perils being the problems that RaneRaps at at his lowest. Each song was written in a moment of either abundant joy or deep sorrow and that is reflected in the ebb and flow of the track list.
“Be a real grown up hold down a job, instead of tryna get married to tha mob.” – Rane Raps
Rane Raps obviously has roots in Jazz, Gospel and Funk, using these elements as background for his conscious lyrics. His voice and style is similar to that of a Kendrick Lamar or Chance The rapper. We are definitely looking forward to hearing more from Rane Raps perspective on life.
