SC Labs, a Santa Cruz based company in the marijuana industry, is sponsoring the second annual Chalice California. The pot-laced fun festival includes several headliners including Action Bronson, hip hop legend Busta Rhymes, Peanut Butter Wolf and more. Chalice California is two day scheduled for July 11-12, at San Bernadino’s National Orange Show.
This event is more than a smoke filled concert though, Chalice is a networking opportunity of sorts for advocates and businesses in the medical marijuana industry. The main topics are testing potency levels of various strands and showing off the art of marijuana glassware, among other interests.
Busta Rhymes will be performing on July 11 with Peanut Butter Wolf, Monch, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and P.U.T.S.. The next day features Curren$y, Alchemmist, Beats Antique and the main headliner Action Bronson.
SC Labs co-founder Ian Rice says “We test for a lot of the larger competitions in California, with Chalice being one of them,” and also expects over 150 samples from concentrates, flower, and edible entries. “It is definitely considered one of the premier events in the marketplace now. It’s a great opportunity for us as a laboratory to introduce our services as well as participate at that level.”
With such a line up, its expected that a two day pass costs over $120. Complete with vendors and a pendant creating competition in the Glassblower Village, the outdoor show could reach temperatures near 100 degrees, so there will be some air conditioned tents, Rice said.
